Minister Dayasiri Jayasekara says the Sri Lanka Freedom Party has not made a final decision over whether to continue to be part of the coalition government.
Minister Jayasekara said a decision will be reached following today’s meeting with President Maithripala Sirisena.
Minister Jayasekara stressed the UNP is under the impression that the SLFP is their party.
He meanwhile noted a few members from the UNP were supposed to vote against the Prime Minister, but changed their minds at the vote while assuming those UNP members will join the SLFP in future.
Minister Jayasekara claimed the President’s stance is that the party has to be united.
The Minister said the party has no intention of remaining in the coalition government for long.
He also said decisions made by the SLFP cannot be influenced by third parties.
